Meeting Dora at the zoo

Gracie loves Dora the Explorer, so when we found out that Dora and Diego were going to be at the zoo, we knew we wanted to take her. We figured it would be crowded so we got there early. We stopped by the Cat House and Insect World to see the cats before going to see Dora.

After leaving Insect World, we noticed a line forming for Dora and Diego so we decided to go ahead and get in line. Gracie immediately wanted Nick to pick her up when she saw Dora and Diego (I'm sure the size intimidated her!) When it was their turn, Nick and Gracie walked up to Diego and Diego held out his hand for a high-five. Gracie either though Diego was holding out his hand to hold her or she just decided she wanted to be held by Diego because she lunged at him. Diego wasn't expecting it and was knocked off balance and his costume head almost came off. Leave it to my baby to almost terrorize an entire zoo full of children!! The lady standing next to Diego kept him on his feet and straightened his head and never left his side until Gracie was out of arm's length..LOL. Gracie must have liked the feel of the material because she kept stroking his cheek. :-)

Then it was onto Dora. Nick was holding Gracie a little tighter (since Gracie wouldn't let him put her down) so she wouldn't attack Dora. But Gracie still wanted Dora to know how much she loves her.Gracie trying to get a look at Backpack

After Dora and Diego, we went to ride the carousel since the line was short.

Next weekend, they are having Story time with Curious George and the week after that is Dancing with Barney. It's a good thing we have zoo memberships!
